The Community Connections Conference June 10 will kick off the Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) Policy Board election process. At the conference, attendees can:

  • Learn about the NRP Policy Board. Policy board members consider neighborhood action plans for spending NRP funds, create funding recommendations for NRP funds, and advise the City on policies affecting NRP-funded organizations.
  • Nominate themselves to run for the NRP Policy Board.
  • Connect with neighborhood organizations participating in the conference.
Voting for the NRP Policy Board

Any Minneapolis resident over 16 will be able to vote for district representative candidates for the district the voter lives in and for one at-large representative.

Before the election, City staff will introduce an updated NRP Policy Board ordinance to be voted on by the City Council. This will allow the City, neighborhood organizations and residents a longer opportunity to learn about the Policy Board.

Timing

The changing of a City ordinance can take time to complete. Therefore, the tentative election time frame has been delayed. We expect the City Council vote to take place around mid-August to late September.

To stay up to date on the NRP Policy Board elections, visit the City website. For questions, call 311 or email Neighborhood & Community Relations.
