A Pequot Lakes resident has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for producing child pornography. Jeffrey Benjamin Adkins, aged 43, will also serve 10 years of supervised release following his prison term. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Andrew M. Luger.

Court documents revealed that Adkins engaged in sexual acts with a minor over several years. During one incident, he created a five-minute video documenting the abuse.

Adkins entered a guilty plea on May 28, 2024, to one count of production of child pornography. His sentencing took place on October 4, 2024, at the U.S. District Court under Judge Katherine M. Menendez.

The FBI conducted the investigation leading to this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily A. Polachek handled the prosecution.
