Steve Cortes, Founder and President of League of American Workers, said Democrats’ strategy is to defend crime in Democrat-run blue cities. He responded to a post on X by Hilary Clinton.

Steve Cortes responded to Hillary Clinton by accusing Democrats of being pro-war and dismissive of crime: “Actually Madame You’ll NEVER Be President: A. We hate war, unlike you, Lindsey Graham, and the rest of the Washington War Machine. B. Defending crime as ‘no big deal’ is quite the stance from the Dems these days. Please keep it up!!!” Cortes posted on X

President Donald Trump announced the mobilization of the District of Columbia National Guard to combat violent crime in Washington, D.C., according to a White House Presidential Memoranda. Trump cited recent high-profile attacks on two Israeli embassy staff, a congressional intern, and a White House aide. Declaring it his duty to ensure the safety of citizens, federal workers, and the functioning of government in the nation’s capital, Trump said the local government had lost control of public order. Under his directive, the Secretary of Defense is authorized to call up National Guard units in numbers deemed necessary, with deployments lasting until the president determines law and order have been restored.

President Trump signaled his intention to use the same federal tactics in other Democrat-led cities, according to the New York Post. He warned that “this will go further” — citing New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Baltimore as potential next options— indicating a push to clean up crime in those cities through federal intervention.

“People are feeling safe already. I’ve had so many calls. ‘Thank you, sir, thank you.’ They were afraid to walk out. They’re not afraid anymore. And this will be like the border,” Trump said

Minneapolis posted a crime index of 645 in 2023, which is approximately 2.7 times the national average, according to City-Data.
