The Minneapolis Institute of Art is preparing to host the 41st annual Art in Bloom festival from April 24 to 27, 2025. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature over 150 floral installations created by more than 100 individual and commercial florists. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the museum, take guided tours, and participate in activities suitable for families.

A highlight of this year's festival is the focus on Alfredo Ramos Martínez's work "Las vendedoras de flores" (c. 1935–38), part of Mia's Latin American art collection. This theme will be central to the Party in Bloom, a signature celebration dubbed fiesta en flor. During this event, guests will be treated to an entry adorned with lights and flowers and enjoy a preview of pedestal floral art, music, appetizers, a seated dinner, and champagne. The event takes place on Friday, April 25, at 6 p.m., with tickets priced at $300.

Other notable events during Art in Bloom include a discussion by floral designer Ashley Fox on brand design, scheduled for Thursday, April 24, at 6 p.m. with tickets costing $30. There will also be workshops such as "Mastering the Art of Hand-Tied Bouquets" and "Ikebana Make and Take" conducted by Sarah from Bloomcroft Dahlias, scheduled for Friday, April 25, at 11 a.m. and Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m., respectively. Tickets for each workshop are $45.

"We're excited to welcome and celebrate with our community at Art in Bloom 2025! With a Latin theme, breathtaking floral arrangements inspired by Mia's amazing art collection, and activities for all ages, we hope you'll join us to experience the joy and beauty of this springtime 'fiesta de flores,'" said Friends of the Institute President Barbara Proeschel.

The event serves as the largest fundraiser for the Friends of the Institute, with proceeds supporting various museum initiatives. These include bus grants to assist with transportation costs for community visits. For further event information, visit artsmia.org/events.

Friends of the Institute, one of the nation's oldest active museum volunteer organizations, has been instrumental since 1922 in supporting acquisitions, education, and museum maintenance. The Minneapolis Institute of Art, housing over 100,000 artworks spanning 7,000 years, offers a venue for inspiration and global dialogue. Admission to Mia is free, though special exhibitions may incur fees.
