The Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) is set to launch the seventh season of its podcast, The Object, on March 24, 2025. This podcast has gained recognition for exploring the stories behind objects at Mia and has been praised by listeners and the New York Times alike.

Tim Gihring, a journalist based in Minneapolis, writes and hosts The Object. He describes this season as focusing on "hidden treasures, those unexpected finds and secret histories we love to imagine—and quite often turn out to be true." The first episode of the new season is titled “Can You Hear Me Now?” and discusses Nick Cave's iconic "soundsuits," created since the Rodney King verdict in 1992.

Additionally, Mia will host The Object LIVE! presented by Ameriprise Financial. These live tapings will feature music, interactive quizzes, special guests, and storytelling. Upcoming shows include “Your Lobster Is Ringing!” on May 11 with musician Dessa discussing Salvador Dalí’s work, and “The Ghost of Gatsby!” on October 30 celebrating F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel.

Ameriprise Financial supports The Object podcast. More information about the podcast and other exhibitions can be found at www.artsmia.org.

Mia houses over 100,000 art pieces spanning 7,000 years of history. It offers free general admission with some special exhibitions requiring a nominal fee. For further details or inquiries, visit their website or call +1-612-870-3000.
