FOIA Request to Minnesota State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.
In a bid to ensure transparency and accountability in the educational sector, we at Minneapolis Review have submitted a request under the Minnesota Data Practices Act § 13.01 et seq. We are seeking comprehensive information about all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools. This includes a list of all required courses and general instruction that is compulsory across the state's public education system.
As a media organization committed to providing accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to these public records is crucial in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. This includes holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency for the benefit of the public.
Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. We eagerly await a response from the Minnesota State Board of Education and will keep our readers updated on any developments.
