Minneapolis Public School District ranked first in the Hennepin County for test participation, with 12,181 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Minneapolis Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 55.8% over the previous year.

10th-grade students stood out with 20% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.
