The City of Minneapolis has extended the deadline for applications for the Blue Line Extension Community Advisory Committee (CAC) and Business Advisory Committee (BAC). These committees serve as voices of the residents and businesses in the project corridor by advising the Metropolitan Council and Hennepin County on how the project can best serve the neighborhoods and businesses near the line.
With the Metropolitan Council and Hennepin County’s endorsement of the recommended route for the Metro Blue Line Extension light rail project in late June, the project is moving forward with its environmental, design, anti-displacement, and public engagement work. To help guide this work, the project team needs your perspectives.
The METRO Blue Line Extension light rail transit project will extend the existing Blue Line from Target Field Station northwest to Brooklyn Park and connect communities along the way.
Application criteria for the committee
Community Advisory Committee (CAC):
- Residents from Ward 4 and 5 in the City of Minneapolis.
- Small and large businesses, nonprofits, or other organizations in Ward 4 and 5.
- Please note there are specific spots reserved for nonprofit members on the BAC. Nonprofits are encouraged to apply.
Notifications to selected members will begin in mid-September. The first meetings for both committees will begin in the fall. The CAC meets the first Monday of the month, 6-8 p.m., and the BAC meets the first Tuesday of the month, 8-9:30 a.m.
