Mankato Minnesota: Provide Feedback on Draft Policy for Body Worn Cameras

20

Mankato Minnesota issued the following announcement on April 11.

The Mankato City Council recently approved the purchase of body worn cameras. Before this technology can be used by Public Safety officers, a written policy must be in place (Minnesota State Statute: 626.8743). Staff are reviewing a model policy for body worn cameras (developed by the League of Minnesota Cities) to help assist with policy development.

The public is invited and encouraged to provide input about this model policy through Wednesday, May 11 online at Every Voice Mankato, or by:

  • Email: Justin Neumann
  • Phone: 507-387-8766
  • Mail:

    City of Mankato

    Public Safety Center

    Attn: Justin Neumann

    710 South Front Street

    Mankato, Minn. 56001

Comments about the draft policy may also be provided at the 6 p.m., May 9 City Council meeting, held in the Minnesota River Room at the Intergovernmental Center, 10 Civic Center Plaza.

If interested in receiving a copy of the model policy by mail or email, please contact staff at 507-387-8766. Copies of the policy are also available at the Public Safety Center, 710 South Front Street.
