City Of Minnesota Government issued the following announcement on Nov. 18.
Mayor Jacob Frey and Andrea Jenkins - Ward 8 City Council Vice-President join Minneapolis Forward Community Now Coalition (CNC) members, local business leaders and owners, private partners, and advocates to highlight a new strategy to support Black Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC)-owned businesses and those damaged during civil unrest.
Through the Minneapolis Forward Rebuild Resilient initiative, the City would direct up to $1.2 million in funding from the 2021 budget to such businesses. The allocation would serve an estimated 200 – 250 Minneapolis businesses.
