Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church issued the following announcement on Aug. 1.
Join us Sunday for the sermon series:
Why Church Now?
Rebuilding the Community of Jesus
August 2: "Why Grow Up?" (Ephesians 4:1-16), Rev. Judy Zabel
Artist and author Cleo Wade says, "We are the builders who are building a world that has never been built before." As we do the work of dismantling racism and building a world of justice, love, and liberation for all, we ask "Why church?" and "Why now?"
In this sermon series we'll study the teachings of the Apostle Paul to ask: How can we find the courage to align our behaviors with our beliefs? How are we called out–right now–to confront injustice and change it?
