The Free Minnesota Small Business Coalition has united with several legislators in the state in an attempt to end Gov. Tim Walz’s executive powers, which the organization referred to as a “constitutional clown show,” on the Minnesota House of Representatives site.

Attorney Erick Kaardal of Minneapolis is serving as counsel for the organization’s lawsuit against Walz that accuses him of going beyond his limits of power.

“The Minnesota Constitution makes it clear that the state’s legislature is the body that enacts the laws and the governor vetoes or signs off. Gov. Walz’s emergency powers are limited, and he is abusing that power over every single Minnesotan by his arbitrary and unfounded dictates,” Kaardal said, according to the Minnesota House of Representatives website.

He went on to say that the governor’s orders are destroying businesses, and that he vetoed the legislature’s rights concerning his controversial authority in place.

“The end result of his autocratic behavior is that businesses are suffering, jobs are being lost and people’s incomes have been devastated,” Kaardal added, according to the Minnesota House of Representatives website.
