MINNEAPOLIS PUBLIC SCHOOLS: Free Food Boxes for Children Schedule Changes

Foodbox

Minneapolis Public Schools  issued the following announcement on June 19.

To better serve the community, we have made some adjustments to our summer schedule for food box pick-up. We will be opening new sites, closing sites that are located near other sites, and adjusting some site schedules. Know that we are able to meet the demand for food boxes, and we hope all families will continue to pick up a box each week for each of their children. Boxes are filled with fresh produce and items for seven breakfasts and seven lunches that meet our True Food standards for nutrition and quality ingredients.

Free Food Boxes for Children Schedule Changes Start the Week of June 22, https://cws.mpls.k12.mn.us/food_pick-up_site_updates.html

NEW SITES:

Wellstone High School, Wednesdays starting June 24

Summit Academy, Thursdays starting June 25

SCHEDULE CHANGES to existing sites:

Longfellow Park will transition from a daily site to Mondays only starting June 22.

Whittier will transition from Mondays to Tuesdays starting June 23. The last day of Monday service at Whittier was June 15.

SITE CLOSURES:

Beltrami Park’s last day was June 16 - visit Northeast Athletic Field Park on Wednesdays instead.

Marcy School’s last day was June 17 - visit Webster School on Thursdays instead.

Peavey Park’s last day was June 17 - visit Phillips Park on Tuesdays instead.

Bethune School’s last day was June 18 - due to construction at the school; this site is being replaced by nearby Summit Academy.
