U.S. Bank Stadium set for $21 million in repairs to fix leaky panels

Football1

The U.S. Bank Stadium is in need of massive repairs because of water damage.

All of the black zinc panels on the stadium have water leaking into them, which is what led to the $21 million repair project that is set to take place in the upcoming future. It is estimated that the total repairs on the U.S. Bank Stadium will take a total of two years to complete.

"I'll be honest with you, we're embarrassed by the fact this building has had the issues it's had," John Wood told the Star Tribune. Wood is the senior vice president of M.A. Mortenson Co., who was the stadium's general contractor.

A settlement announced Feb. 28 requires the original contractors to pay for the repairs as the $1.1 billion building was only just completed in August 2016. With the settlement that was made between the contractors and the stadium, the Vikings and the taxpayers will be free of the costs that will cover the repairs.
