Minneapolis Public Schools issued the following announcement on Dec. 26.
Margo Hurrle helps manage the education of MPS students experiencing homelessness and who are considered highly mobile. In October, WCCO recognized her as an excellent educator. She has been working tirelessly since the tragic fire on Dec. 25 at the Drake Hotel to help identify and support MPS students affected.
Thank you for your service to support our students, Margo. We're grateful to you, the first responders at City of Minneapolis Government, the American Red Cross Minnesota Region, MFT 59 and everyone in our community who has stepped up to support our students and families.

Our Excellent Educator award goes to a woman who makes sure kids have a classroom even if they don't have a home.
