Minneapolis Public Schools issued the following announcement on Nov. 6.
Want to make a difference in your community, have an impact on your education, and uplift student voice in Minneapolis Public Schools? We have the opportunity for you! The Student Board Representative will provide the student perspective in the MPS Board of Education meetings.
Applications should be filled out by student, then printed, signed, and scanned in to the Student Engagement Program Coordinator. Responses to questions may be typed or handwritting; please write legibily. Question 5 MUST be a video recording. Please ensure that video and audio is clear and understandable.
2019-2020 Timeline: Electing a Student Board Representative
- Application and Two Letters of Recommendation Due by 9:00pm on Friday, November 8th, 2019
- November 8th - November 27th: Applications are screened and reviewed byStudnet Engagement Program Coordinator and CityWide Student Leadership Board members. Interviews will take place between November 13th and November 27th.
- Mid-late December: New Student Board Representative is publicly announced
- January 2020: New Student Board Representative is sworn in at the first 2020 MPS School Board Meeting
