Body camera footage of George Floyd's death has been ordered to be released by a Minnesota Judge.
Former police officers involved in Floyd's death will have their footage released from killing Floyd as ordered by Judge Peter Cahill, WXOW reported. The footage will be coming from the body cameras worn by Thomas Lane and J. Kueng.
Cahill has also ordered the footage to be made public, but didn't specify when the footage would be released or how it would be made public.
When the video footage was filed with the court in July, only the transcripts were made public, WXOW reported. Later, people were allowed to view the body camera footage by appointment only.
Once released, the footage will be publicly available to anyone.
Floyd was an unarmed Black man killed by former Minnesota police officers, BBC News reported. His death sparked riots, looting, protests and civil unrest throughout the U.S. against police brutality. It caused people to call for police reform and in some places to defund or dismantle police departments.
